Meet Richard, a New York City based artist with a passion for creativity and style.

Born in Panama, Richard’s story began far from the city he would later call home. From an early age, New York spoke to him...it was a place he felt drawn to long before arriving. “I’d look at The New York Times as a kid and fantasize about the life I’d have here.” His childhood vision eventually became a reality.
Today, the city continues to shape his perspective, even if inspiration, for him, is never even in question. When asked where he goes for a change of scenery, his answer moves across the Atlantic—to Paris! He describes Paris as a perfect counterpoint to New York, offering a more balanced, "masculine–feminine energy."

His friend, Steve Gonzalez, introduced him to Jacques Solovière. He now owns two pairs: the Alexis Brown and the black derbies from Steve’s collection—each reflecting a different side of his aesthetic. If translated into another art form, the sandals would belong to Cubism, reminiscent of Picasso or Juan Gris—“all lines and shapes.”

If he had to dedicate a soundtrack to his pair of Jacque Solovières, it would be one by Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin—"timeless, understated, and iconic."
In his own work, choosing a single color feels impossible. “It’s like choosing a favorite child.” Instead, his focus leans more towards material—currently drawn to French paper by Arche, discovered during a recent lithography residency in Copenhagen.
Richard is one of those people who leaves a lasting impression...effortless, creative, and deeply in tune with his world.
